Management Team

Kevin Lafeber headshot

Kevin Lafeber

Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Lafeber has more than 25 years of sales and management experience, including positions as Director of Sales and Senior Vice President. Prior to joining SunGard Public Sector, Mr. Lafeber was responsible for providing sales leadership in the public sector including the federal, state and local markets. He is using this vast experience to provide growth, innovation, development, strategic initiatives and customer relations for SunGard Public Sector.

Mr. Lafeber holds a BA in English from St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN.


Charles Almy - Chief Information Officer

Chief Information Officer

Mr. Almy joined SunGard in November 2000 as a Team Lead for IT. In 2004 he was promoted to Manager of Technical Services, and again promoted in 2007 to Director of Information Systems. Prior to joining SunGard, Mr. Almy held positions at North Carolina Farm Bureau and the Guilford County District Attorney’s Office in Greensboro, NC. Mr. Almy was promoted to Chief Information Officer in April 2013.

Mr. Almy holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Guilford College.


Robert Valvano headshot

Robert Valvano

Chief Finance Officer

Mr. Valvano joined SunGard Public Sector as CFO in January 2016 after a long tenure working for SunGard Data Systems Inc. most recently as Vice President – Corporate Finance and previously as the Vice President – Corporate Development. Mr. Valvano has over 25 years of experience with over 17 years in software at SunGard/FIS and brings strong experience in corporate finance and financial planning and analysis.

Mr. Valvano holds a B.S. from Penn State University and an MBA in Finance from Drexel University.


Tom Amburgey

Tom Amburgey

Vice President and General Manager – Public Administration

Mr. Amburgey joined SunGard Public Sector in August 2014. He has more than 15 years’ experience working with and in the public sector. He previously worked at SunGard and left to become the Chief Information Officer for the Village of Wellington, Florida, where he was named one of Computerworld’s 2011 Premier 100 IT leaders while building an award winning technology operation that included all technology and communication services, GIS, public broadcasting and more. Mr. Amburgey also managed the interior build-out of Wellington’s GOLD certified LEED City Hall while deploying a citywide broadband wireless mesh network. Most recently, Mr. Amburgey served as CIO for the City of Hallandale Beach. He has implemented a vast amount of hardware and software services while managing a variety of city municipal services. Mr. Amburgey has spoken internationally about the projects and advancements made during his work with local governments.

Mr. Amburgey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University.

Christian Coleman

Vice President of Finance

Ms. Coleman joined the company in 1998 as a Senior Business Analyst and was promoted to Controller in 2004. Prior to joining SunGard Public Sector, she worked for 12 years in retail operations management and consulting in the retail IT area. Ms. Coleman built the finance team and was instrumental in fostering the Contracts group that now supports all of SunGard Public Sector’s business in the United States.

Ms. Coleman holds a BA in American Studies from Tulane University and an MBA from Rollins College.

Nathan Hershkowitz

Vice President of TRAKiT Division

Mr. Hershkowitz leads the TRAKiT Division and explores SunGard Public Sector’s vision in progressive and innovative ways. His primary focus is centered on developing the most intuitive, stable, and resourceful software solutions to meet, and exceed, the ever-evolving needs of our clients.

Prior to the acquisition of CRW Systems, Inc., Mr. Hershkowitz led the company as President of CRW. He joined CRW in 2007, and fomerly served as its Executive Vice President, Vice-President of Business Development and as General Manager.

An alumnus from San Diego State University, Mr. Hershkowitz holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. He has a thorough understanding of complex agency processes, as well as, invaluable experience with the industry. Known for the high value he places on client relationships, he continues to seek ways to strengthen our client bonds, creating productive and long-lasting partnerships.

Jillian Macau

Vice President and General Manager – Public Administration Mid-Market

Ms. Macau joined SunGard Public Sector in 2003 as a development manager for Public Safety & Justice, bringing with her years of experience in software development and project management. In 2005, Ms. Macau was promoted to Director of Customer Support where she initiated a renewed metric-driven approach to the assessment of Customer Support effectiveness. She expanded employee training programs, reduced backlogs and increased customer satisfaction. In 2009, Ms. Macau was promoted to Vice President of Support Operations and given responsibility for managing the support of all SunGard Public Sector product lines.

Ms. Macau holds a BS in Management Information Systems from Wright State University and an MBA from the University of Miami.
