In the UK, more than 50m citizens are served by agencies that rely on SunGard Public Sector solutions. Those agencies comprise 49 out of 53 UK police forces, 22 of 55 fire and rescue services and in a rolling programme, all of the 14 new regional ambulance trusts. When completed, this programme will position SunGard as the UK’s leading provider of emergency call taking equipment and control room technologies to the public safety sector. Major criminal justice agencies and 30 of the 43 police forces in England and Wales rely on SunGard's Criminal Justice software applications to generate electronic case files, speed up the justice process and successfully prosecute their business. We also have a position in the Home Office programme to develop the Police National Database (PND) and our UNIFI Crime and Intelligence application is delivering huge benefits to the 5 forces that are current users. The move towards regionalisation and the merging of existing police forces is another facet of the government’s efficiency programme; for those customers, SunGard provides ICT outsourcing, shared services, TUPE and risk sharing. SunGard also serves the Garda, British Transport Police, the MoD Police, RAF Search and Rescue, the Highways Agency and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. |
