One of the reasons IT solutions can be so effective is that they can perform tasks day-in day-out without the need for costly manual intervention. UNIFI offers these automated features in a number of areas, and one of the most interesting is that of Automated Alerts. Any UNIFI user can register an interest on any entity within the system, for example a nominal. If any details of that nominal are subsequently changed, or any associated information is entered then the user who registered an interest in that nominal is notified by email. An example of the use of Automated Alerts would be if a Police Officer wanted to interview a specific nominal but did not know their whereabouts and then that individual was brought into custody, this would be flagged up by the system in an email. The Police Officer could then visit the custody suite and interview the individual. All of this occurs without any manual intervention, therefore the Custody Officer would not need to have any knowledge of the interest of another Officer – in essence UNIFI acts as a 24/7 ‘virtual intelligence officer’. This capability will assist a Police Force to achieve its objectives of reducing risk, increasing detections and aid in the efficient deployment of resources. |
